Planned forum opens debate over duties of Elections Supervisor
Interim appointed Supervisor of Elections Mike Ertel plans a community forum this week in which "spirited debate" is expected.  The obvious question is whether such activity is really part of his official duties.

Just like a decade ago, commissioners lack courage to take necessary action

Honoring heroes of the past should include meeting needs of the present
Elected officials in Longwood and Winter Springs say it is more of a priority to fund honor for fallen heroes of the past than for current members of their community.

Bandwagon rolling through Seminole may not be taking proper path
Outgoing Casselberry City Manager Frank Clifton advised commissioners of the dangers of jumping on the sexual offender bandwagon that is rolling through Seminole County.  Hopefully, they will heed his warnings.

Commissioner Carey's consistent contradictions continue
Evidently, County Commissioner Brenda Carey no longer believes in the words she espoused to help become elected. Consider her comments and performance at last week's commission meeting, during discussion of the one-cent increase on motor fuel.

In School Board's view, to save the village, you must destroy it
The School Board's sense of community is that to save the community you must uproot the community. You know the concept: to save the village you must destroy it.
