Good planning or recipe for complaints?
Earlier this month, Seminole County commissioners gave preliminary approval to a development of 1,000 homes proposed for a site just northeast of Orlando Sanford International Airport in Sanford. Proponents of the project, called Cameron Heights, say it makes sense to build homes relatively close to the more than 21,000 jobs the airport is expected to create during the next 15 years. But Seminole County's planning and zoning board had recommended denial. Among its objections: the same thing that supporters say makes sense -- homes close to an airport.
