There's nothing more rewarding to a writer than to know others are in appreciation of your efforts, so a big "thank you" to all of you for the overwhelming response to my most recent column.

"Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson, it's time for you to go" has generated an avalanche of emails that are still being sorted through.  If you requested a personal response, please be patient.

Unlike our School Board members and other politicos, I read your comments and opinions with great interest and personally respond to all who request so.  You are our constituency and deserve nothing less.

Keep your comments coming.  You can always reach me at slatsmurphy@seminolecountywatch.com

Here are a few comments that represent many of the others in tone and spirit:

"My oh my.... couldn't have said it better myself!!"

"I really do appreciate your efforts, and wanted you to know that.  It is a shame that your brothers in the print media, particularly the Orlando Sentinel’s Seminole section, are so hesitant to pay attention to the story.  Alas, not all is lost.  Their loss will prove to be your gain in the long run, and that should create a more balanced atmosphere for all of us."

"Your scolding of School Board Member Sandy Robinson earns my applause. As a very active parent during the rezoning process I discovered first hand that Robinson believes she can snub her constituents without paying a political price. That's the type of political elitism I disdain, especially in public servants who serve our children.

"I, for one, intend to add my voice to yours to end her political ambitions at the ballot box -- including the Republican primary -- and turn out the other three board members up for re-election in 2006 too."
