Casselberry commissioners have approved a labor agreement with United Service Workers, which covers the public-works department and some parks and recreation employees.

Under the contract, approved by commissioners at their Monday night meeting, the employees will receive a 10 percent raise when promoted. Overtime will be paid for more than 40 hours a week, and six hours of sick leave will be earned each month. Anyone hired after August 2004 who falls under the contract also will have to live no farther than 25 miles from the city's emergency-operations center.
